American Legion #155 Family Donates To Special Olympics

American Legion Post #155 1st Vice Commander Jay Conti Sr. presents a check for $1,300 to Butch Keiper the Citrus County Special Olympics Coordinator.

American Legion #155 Family which includes the American Legion Post #155, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #155, Son's Of The American Legion Squadron #155, Legion Riders Chapter #155, Citrus 40/8 Voiture & Cabane #1219 raised funds over the past year to donate to this worthy cause for the Citrus County Special Olympics.

The Son's of The American Legion Squadron #155 spearheaded the fundraiser lead by Squadron Commander Mark Cox as he coordinated fundraisers and donations through the year from the entire American Legion #155 Family. In previous years The American Legion #155 Family had sent their donations to the State Special Olympics Coordinator which was O.K. However, the County would only see a portion of these funds. American Legion Post #155 Vice Commander Jay Conti Sr. stated we are doing our own community a disfavor and we should leave 100% of our donations that our members and the community raised in Citrus county. In doing so, the entire donation of $1,300 will stay in Citrus County for use in Citrus County.

The American Legion Family encourages the Community, area businesses, Veterans and fellow citizens to raise money for this great cause. Please send your tax-deductible donation to the Citrus County Special Olympics and for any question please contact Butch Keiper the Citrus County Special Olympics Coordinator at 352-527-5467.
