NE Post 630 assists with Blue Ash Fire’s annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

On the morning of Sept. 11, 2022, members of Northeast Post 630 participated in the 3rd Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb organized by the City of Blue Ash (Ohio) Fire Department and Firefighters Local 3202. The purpose of the event was to remember and honor those New York City firefighters who gave their lives in an effort to rescue the people trapped in the World Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, 2001.
The ceremony took place at the 11-story observation tower that stands as the signature building in Summit Park. A solemn and respectful ceremony was held prior to the climb. A brief account of the events that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001, was given; the ringing of the last call was made; a presentation of the colors, a 3-shot volley, and the sounding of taps was provided by the Northeast Post 630 color guard; and beautiful renditions of "God Bless America" and the national anthem were sung. Following the ceremony, firefighters and first responders suited up and commenced their climb up the tower at 8:46 a.m.
