On February 11, 2012 American Legion Post 135 attended the medical retirement ceremony for a local Marine - James Childers Jr. with the 4TH LANDING SUPPORT BATTALION.

Our Post awarded him with a check, 1 yr membership and our Legion coin. He is currently enrolled at the University of Georgia seeking a career in Engineering!!
