Veterans thank Mid Prairie School District

As we leave November behind and look forward to December, the members of American Legion Post 427 would like to thank the students and staff of the Mid Prairie School District for inviting us into the schools to speak about what it is to be a veteran. The luncheon provided by the Honor Society was very much appreciated. It was much more palatable than the MREs I showed to the students. The assembly at the high school was very touching for all the veterans who attended.
November was a very busy month for Post 427. The Ladies Auxiliary sponsored a veterans luncheon the 13th; afterward we went to Parkview Senior Living Center to visit with our veterans. We attended the Wellman Chamber of Commerce gathering on the 10th. We met a lot of wonderful people and we're able to tell how the Legion can help the community.
As we head into the holidays we want to remind the community we have Bingo the first Saturday of every month. We meet at 5 p.m. in the basement of the Federation Bank. Food is provided. We ask a freewill donation. The monies raised go to fundraising for our building. Our only requirement to attend is a smile and friendly attitude. The public is very much welcome and I can't guarantee big bots, but I can guarantee a good time.
The members of Post 427 wish everyone Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year.
