Gentlemen/Ladies: Simply an fyi update & a question from n. GA .. Listened for TALARC/ via voice SSB 7243 from 2200 UTC (5pm EST/6pm ESDST) to 2305 UTC today, 3rd Sunday of the month, and regretfully heard nothing :- (. Does anyone see that I got anything wrong per the above data? Anyone else in the SE able to hear/log-in ? Hope so. Many thanks.

Any TALARC Hams in SE interested in setting up a southeastern vicinity network ???
I am good for 40 meters at 100 Watts. For the sake of simplicity I'd be inclined to comm via an NVIS antenna layout and voice until we got up and running and then we could expand to other Modes if we wished. I am thinking in terms of a once a month Sunday around 6pm ET for 15 to 30 minutes.
We could do this Post to Post, or individual to individual, or a big happy mixture of all the above ! ! :- ).
For geographic perspective, I am in north GA about 40 miles north of Atlanta.

Anyone in the Southeast interested in testing NVIS?
I would be able to test with you on 40 meters.
I am based in north GA and would be employing 100 Watts. Have always been able to comm. out to 150 miles, sometimes 350.
I would like to see an NVIS network developed amongst Posts.

In recent meetings of the Club's Board of Officers, there was discussion given to starting a 10 meter net to better accommodate the personal schedules of all TALARC members or, perhaps more so, to benefit Technician class members who might wish to participate in TALARC net operations via the HF bands.

Just checking the waters...! Let's use this Forum space to collect information about your Ham Radio activities connected with your post. If you have a post club, we'd especially want to know--please post a reply with Post name, city, state, and other details, meeting times, and so forth. Same goes for district and area American Legion radio clubs and activities as well. Go ahead, brag about it!

I participated in the annual Society for the Preservation of Amateur Radio (SPAR) Winter Field Day event. The object of this event is to set up emergency-style communications and make as many radio contacts as possible during the 24 hour period. In between making contacts. The competitive part of the event ran from 12:00 noon on Saturday January 24th to 12:00 noon on Sunday January 25th. This type of setup is similar to the station that I have used to support the Boy Scout Jamboree-on-the-Air event which is held each October.
