Forty-two Legionnaires from across the nation are on Capitol Hill today visiting members of the Joint Congressional Deficit Reduction Committee from their respective home states. The Legion lobbyists are counseling lawmakers to protect Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs budgets as they seek ways to reduce government spending. Among the Legionnaires on The Hill today is Past National Commander Clarence Bacon of Maryland. He will meet with Sen. Chris Van Hollen.
