In 1963 as the Vietnam War war was building up, Uncle Sam decided I was needed in South Korea. On my way across country, heading for Oakland, Calif. to transport over, I stopped at Fort Carson, Colo. for a three day visit with my uncle and his relatively new wife, a beautiful South Korean woman. Since the Army was not providing me with any language training I wanted to learn an apology in the native Korean language, so I could let them know I did not know their language. My Aunt Kim taught me how to say, "I'm sorry, but I do not understand what you are saying." She taught me so well, that whenever I had an opportunity to say this, they could not believe me!
