After 20 years as a Tech, I pass my General Class Exam. I am now K5ROB/AG. My local club, the NorthEast Mississippi Radio Amateurs in Fulton, MS and they offered a VEC testing session as part of the start of field day today. Next month, Extra.

Congrats on your upgrade! After 30 years as a General I upgraded to Extra on June 6. I turned 70 in May and had to do a little study to pass Element 4, but if I can do it anyone can.

Go for it! I also held Tech for ten years or so, but as I studied and advanced to General I didn't stop but kept at it until I passed the Extra Class exam. Now to try to get on as a volunteer examiner...

Thank you and congratulations on the upgrade on my birthday. I am currently working on the Element 4 exam. 15 years ago, I could have passed it with very little studying but now, I forgot most of the theory and formulas. I got to do some serious studying.

I found this club about a month ago while surfing the legion.org site. At the July Post meeting, I will be giving a brief to the members on the club and what they need to do to join. My wish is to get enough to have our own post club. Maybe someday we can be recognized like the ALR with our on local, state, and national dept units.
