Kentucky American Legion Post hosts VA S.A.V.E. training

Members of The American Legion Family of Post 113 in Elizabethtown, Ky., took part in a VA S.A.V.E. training session. During the training, they learned how to identify the warning signs of a veteran who may be crisis, how to ask the veteran if they are thinking about committing suicide, how to validate the veteran's feelings, and how to encourage them to seek treatment. The training is part of how Post 113 is embracing The American Legion "Be The One" mission to end veteran suicide. If you or a veteran you know is in crisis, dial 988 and press 1.
