Joseph Leo, 89, of Paramus, formerly of Hasbrouck Heights and Rochelle Park, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Born in North Bergen to the late John and Elizabeth Coar. Joe was a Navy veteran of World War II and proudly served his country in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre as a signalman. Before retiring, he was a longshoreman for the New York Shipping Association and worked in Hoboken, Bayonne and Elizabeth, and was a member of the International Longshoremen Association Local 881. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Rochelle Park and a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge in Teaneck. Beloved husband of Eileen (nee Bean) Coar for 66 years. Loving father of Geraldine Blom and her husband Jan of Rochelle Park, and Kathy Jungermann and her husband Keith of Hasbrouck Heights. Proud grandfather of Jan Joseph, Kenneth Blom and Matthew Jungermann. Dear brother to the late John and Harold Coar, Margaret Collier and Madeline Kelly. Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Joe loved music, dancing, cheering on his Mets and Giants, golf and all things Sinatra.
