Patric J. (Pat) Folwell

Patric Joseph Folwell 69, of Las Vegas, passed away surrounded by family June 16 in Las Vegas after a sudden illness. Born March 17, 1946, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Wesley Folwell and Jean Turosh.
Patric was married June 24, 1995 to his beloved wife Peggy Scovron Rader, who survives. He is also survived by children Amy Folwell Of Seneca, Pa., Matt Folwell and Bill and wife Maya Rader, all of of Las Vegas, granddaughter Dezire Diaz, a great-grandson, Ethan, of Colorado Springs, Colo.,, three brothers, Bill of Las Vegas, Jim and wife Gerry of Pittsburgh, Tony Guyda of Oil City, Pa., three sisters, Ellen Folwell and Shirley Mizia, Kathy Wilson and husband Harold Wilson of Youngstown, Ohio, as well as many nieces and nephews and special friends who were his family as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Doris Allen, Little Ferry N.J., and his sister-in-law Peggy Jo Folwell, Pittsburgh.
Patric was a 1964 graduate of Oil City High School and a 1969 graduate of Kansas State University. Patric served our country as a captain in the U.S. Army and served one tour in Vietnam. He was also a local auctioneer for many years.
Patric served his community in Oil City and Las Vegas.
He was a recipient of many awards including the American Legion Hall of Fame 1976, past commander of the VFW, past president of the Rotary Club, and Oil City Man of the Year.
Patric was active in the Assumption Church in Oil City, where he was a lecturer cantor and served for many years as the religious education director. Patric had a beautiful singing voice and was recorded with the Assumption BVM choir when they made several CDs of Polish recordings for Easter and Christmas.
At the time of his death, Patric was employed by Western American Properties in Las Vegas, where he managed and worked with seniors for 35 years.
Patric and his wife are loyal supporters of Kansas State University. They are KSU football season ticket-holders and have not missed a home game in Manhattan, Kan., for four years. They attended all but two playoff bowl games in the last 19 years.
