Hiring Our Heroes Transition & Benefits Job Fair
Join us on Aug. 27, 2013, for the Hiring Our Heroes Transition & Benefits Job Fair during The American Legion's 95th Annual National Convention in Houston, Texas. This hiring fair will be for veteran job seekers, active-duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, and eligible spouses. It will be in Room 342, 3rd Floor, of the George Brown Convention Center, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for employers and job seekers alike.
Women's Small Business Workshop
Join us for a two-day entrepreneurial course to be held in conjunction with The American Legion's 95th Annual National Convention in Houston Aug. 26-27. This free course is specifically designed for women, military veterans and military spouses. After completing this course, participants will have the tools and knowledge they need to identify business opportunities, draft business plans and launch their enterprises.

Employment Transition Workshop
This event will be hosted by 1st Command Bank, General Electric, SAP, Sallie Mae and Nextstar. During this event, we will assist veterans with resumes and translating military skills to in-demand employment opportunities. There will also be discussions about various veterans training programs in the areas of manufacturing, IT, finance, education and plumbing.
Empowering Conference Career & Benefits Fair
The goal of this event is to provide servicemembers, veterans and spouses relevant information in the fields of employment, education and entrepreneurship to obtain careers in industry, business and government.
