Cardington, Ohio, 2020 Memorial Day

The American Legion Family members from Jenkins-Vaughan Post 97 were forced to cancel their annual Memorial Day parade in Cardington, Ohio due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, they found a new way to observe Memorial Day with their community. The post honor guard carried the colors, followed by a solemn procession, from American Legion Park to Glendale cemetery for a ceremony. All participants followed social distancing guidelines, and the community watched from porches and via livestream on the post’s Facebook page. Photos by Maddie McGarvey
