Its 60th. The National Executive Committee approved the foundation’s establishment on Oct. 15, 1953; it was incorporated under Indiana state laws on July 9, 1954, and made its first grants in 1955.
Today, the Child Welfare Foundation has granted more than $13.2 million to youth-oriented nonprofits. Plans are underway to acknowledge the anniversary at the 2014 National Convention in Charlotte in August. Learn more about the foundation here .
