Japanese Officer's Ceremonial Sword

Sword used by an officer of the Imperial Japanese Army in World War II. This style of sword was known as a kyu-gunto and was used in the Russo-Japanese War and World War II. The long hilt and peg used to hold the blade in the hilt indicate that the blade is likely hand forged.
