The Women's Army Auxiliary Corps was founded in 1942 and made a part of the regular Army as the Women's Army Corps in 1943. Forty percent of WAC's served with the Army Service Forces, 40 percent with the Army Air Forces and the remainder with the Army Ground Forces.
