Should the United States reduce its reliance on private security contractors in war zones?

Choices

Yes. The government has less control over the behavior of contracted soldiers in combat zones.

Yes. Private contractor involvement should be confined to food services, transportation and other non-combat needs in theater.

No. Most contractors are former U.S. military anyway, and this is a good way for them to continue to serve and make decent pay.

No. It costs the government less to care for private contractors after discharge because injuries they incur as contractors do not qualify them for VA care later.

No. Private contractors have a bit more latitude to engage in security missions where U.S. troop presence might create political problems.
