Donations flow during national convention
Members of The American Legion Family again opened up their wallets during the 96th Annual National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. More than $1 million was donated to various American Legion charitable funds during the convention, bringing this year's donation totals to nearly $2 million.
In addition to more than $1 million being raised for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, more than $270,000 was donated to the National Emergency Fund. For the year, more than $735,000 was raised for the NEF – immediate Past National Commander Dan Dellinger's fundraising project.
Another $72,000 was donated to Operation Comfort Warriors, while more than $40,000 was raised for the Child Welfare Foundation.
