Announcements were made regarding the following subjects:
• Newest TALARC video, which was done at HamVention 2016.
• A video resident on the Legion website about North Carolina post commander and TALARC member Greg Gabry, N9PGG, serving the Legion and amateur radio through Post 116 and its ARC station.
• Request for photos and videos of any Field Day activities.
• Request for Net Control and Assistant Net Control operators.
Discussion on the net was offered by several in regard to the following:
• Fred, WA5LIE, spoke of the work in securing authorization and equipment to establish an amateur radio station at Post 71 in Denton, Texas. He also reported to the net that he had drafted a post-approved resolution, which was forwarded to the Department of Texas for consideration at their department convention. The resolution seeks the establishment of an amateur radio representative's position on an "appropriate committee" at the department level.
• John, KC8CMQ, spoke of his participation during Field Day 2016.
• Larry, W2FTV, also spoke of his activities during the Field Day event in his area.
• Larry, KD6SWL, announced the schedule for the California Department EchoLink net that operates each Sunday at 1330 Pacific time on the FMCA-ARC Conference Node.
• Everett, WA3DVO, spoke of preparation for this year's Boy Scout's JOTA [Jamboree on the Air] event that is hosted annually by Post 275.
