Carmine, Sr., of Las Vegas, passed away in the early hours of April 10, 2016.
It is with sorrow and a heavy heart we announce the unexpected passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to so many.
In the early hours of April 10, 2016, Carmine Pellechio Sr. of Las Vegas passed away. Carmine was born Dec., 26, 1933 to Americo (Robert) and Isabella (nee Hill) Pellechio. He was raised in Fairview, N.J., surrounded by a large extended family that included many uncles, aunts and cousins. He attended Lincoln School in Fairview and Cliffside Park High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served in Korea and was honorably discharged (1951-1954).
He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, earning his bachelor of arts degree. he then went on to get his accreditation in education and began a teaching career, teaching first in Dumont, N.J., and then in the North Bergen, N.J., school district before his retirement. Carmine taught English, served as a guidance counselor, Student Council moderator and bowling coach for North Bergen High School. He retired as a Vice-Principal and served in that capacity in the many grammar schools in the district.
Carmine was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Isabel DeSimone. He is survived by wife Joyce (nee Mella), sons Carmine Jr., Joseph and Robert, and a daughter, Kathleen Pawlikowski. He is survived by eight grandchildren, Alexis Nicole Pellechio, Nina Coomes, Katie Pawlikowski, Samantha Pellechio, Jessica Pellechio, Robert Pellechio, Alex Pawlikowski and Steven Pawlikowski, as well as many nieces and nephews.
