Thomas Bostley

BOSTLEY
Thomas J., 79, of Fair Lawn, N.J., passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Fair Lawn for 34 years. A proud Army veteran who served from 1954-1956, he was a member of American Legion Post 170 of Rochelle Park. Tom attended Maritime College at Fort Schuyler and Association of Ship Brokers and Agents, earning a degree in Advanced Chartering in 1973. An involved member of his community, he served with the Fair Lawn Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Bostley was a parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn and a member of the Bergen Irish Association of Dumont and the Fair Lawn Senior Center.
Prior to retiring, he was a cargo coordinator with Rist Transport in Moonachie. Previously, he was employed with Metropolitan Oil Company where he ultimately earned the position of ocean freight coordinator. Tom started his career at Sinclair Oil Company in New York City. where he met his wife. Eileen.
Beloved husband of 58 years of Eileen (Egan) Bostley. Loving and devoted father of Michael Bostley and wife Cathy. Cherished grandfather of Kristina and Michelle Bostley. Loving cousin of Mary Devins and late husband Jim, the late Anne and Joseph Lonigro, and Bridie Cawley and late husband Mike. Dear brother-in-law of the late Vincent Egan, Jack Egan and Dolly Neill.
A funeral mass was held March 22 at St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn. Interment at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y. The family received relatives and friends Friday, 2-9 PM, at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, 201-797-3500.
