Submit nominees for Legion Baseball alumni spotlight

With 67 representatives in the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the storied history of American Legion Baseball alumni who have gone on to become successful ballplayers is well chronicled.

There are thousands of alumni, however, who have left the baseball field to become tremendously successful in other fields. These alumni will be the subject of a monthly series on how their time playing baseball molded them into the men they are today.

“We are excited to create the Alumni Spotlight to focus on young men who have used their experience with Legion Baseball to develop into important members of their community,” said Larry Price, who recently retired after 19 years as the chairman of the American Legion Baseball Subcommittee. “Winning is important, but Legion Baseball teaches integrity, mental attitude, cooperation, citizenship, sportsmanship, scholastic aptitude and general good conduct, as well.”

Anyone may nominate a Legion Baseball alum who exhibits the ideals of ALB. Selected graduates will be featured monthly in The Dugout e-newsletter and on www.legion.org/baseball.
