Over 50 veteran job fairs set for April

Veteran and military job-seekers will have almost 60 career fairs that they can attend next month, spanning all parts of the country from Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, to Rutland, Vermont. Thanks to The American Legion, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, RecruitMilitary and Military.com, April will provide many opportunities for veterans, servicemembers and spouses to find employment.

As they often do, Legion posts will play host to career fairs – sponsored jointly by The American Legion and U.S. Chamber of Commerce – in a number of cities and towns throughout April. Legion Post 1080 will provide a venue for a fair in Joliet, Ill., on April 4. And Hiring Our Heroes events will reach Legion Post 21 in Winchester, Va., on April 15, and Post 67 in Salmon, Idaho, on April 20.

Also noteworthy are military spouses hiring events set for the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., on April 10; at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., on April 11; and Fort Stewart in Georgia on April 24.

At the beginning of each month, Legion.org features a new listing of veteran career fairs scheduled for that month. Listings usually include events hosted, or co-hosted by, The American Legion, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, RecruitMilitary and Military.com. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register through the registration links provided on each career fair’s individual listing, but walk-ups are always accepted.

Employers in attendance often include entities from the public and private sectors, like Microsoft, the Department of Labor, FBI, Amazon.com, State Farm Insurance
