DHS to conduct job and hiring fair

The Department of Homeland Security will conduct a job and hiring fair for military personnel Sept. 25 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Va. Veterans, active-duty servicemembers, Guardsmen and reservists, and family of military are invited to attend the event, which will provide career workshops and hire individuals on the spot to work for DHS.

Attendees can meet and network with representatives from DHS about federal careers. Hiring managers from DHS will be on site, ready to extend tentative offers of employment. Representatives from federal branches will also be on hand, including the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Secret Service. Workshops will educate attendees on working within the federal government and will give instructions on how to apply for a federal job.

Register for the event at DHS's Web site. The fair will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Suite 5, on the second level of the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
