National commander sends message of sympathy to Chattanooga victims

American Legion National Commander Michael D. Helm expressed sorrow over the shootings that occurred yesterday at a Naval Reserve Center and Marine Corps recruiting office in Chattanooga, Tenn.

“Early reports are saying that four Marines have been murdered in an act that officials are calling ‘domestic terrorism,’” Helm said. “My prayers are with the victims and their families. Anytime our military is targeted it is an attack on all of us. The American Legion stands with the families and the friends of the fallen.”
