Joseph T. Aiello of Frankfort, N.Y. Mr. Aiello of Post 845 (Department of New York) passed away May 29 at age 93. He was a World War II Army veteran. Aiello served as National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1980 to 1982. He was a member of the National Law & Order Committee from 1985 to 2012.

William L. Brown of Hornell, N.Y. Mr. Brown of Post 440 (Department of New York) passed away June 6 at age 82. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Brown served as department commander from 1990 to 1991, National Executive Committeeman from 1995 to 1997, Alternate National Executive Committeeman from 1993 to 1995, National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1978 to 1982, and national commander’s representative to the National Trophies, Awards and Ceremonials Committee from 1982 to 1991.

He was a member of the National Americanism Commission from 1991 to 1995, the National Aerospace Committee from 1997 to 2012, the National Legislative Commission Liaison Committee from 1995 to 1997, and the National Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Commission Liaison Committee from 1994 to 1995.

Gerard W. Cheffer of Lombard, Ill. Mr. Cheffer of Post 135 (Department of Illinois) passed away June 17 at age 87. He was a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran. Cheffer served as National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1970 to 1982, National Employment Committee vice chairman from 1960 to 1961, National Merchant Marine Committee’s national commander’s representative from 1982 to 1985, National Naval Affairs Committee chairman from 1998 to 2007 and National Naval Affairs Committee vice chairman from 1995 to 1998.

He was a member of the National Housing Committee from 1958 to 1960, and the National Naval Affairs Committee from 1985 to 1995 and 2007 to 2009.

William G. Clancy of Bronx, N.Y. Mr. Clancy of Post 156 (Department of New York) passed away July 7 at age 75. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran. Clancy served as National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1996 to 2010, and National & Homeland Security Council vice chairman from 2010 to 2012.

Donald T. Clarke of Wessington, S.D. Mr. Clarke of Post 110 (Department of South Dakota) passed away June 12 at age 81. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Clarke served as department commander from 1974 to 1975, National Executive Committeeman from 1981 to 1995, Alternate National Executive Committeeman from 1977 to 1981, National Aerospace Committee consultant from 1975 to 1977, National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 2011 to 2012, National Foreign Relations Commission Liaison Committee chairman from 1987 to 1995, National Security Commission vice chairman from 1996 to 2007, and National & Homeland Security Council vice chairman from 1979 to 1981 and 2007 to 2011.

He was a member of the National Legislative Commission Liaison Committee from 1981 to 1987, the National Security Commission from 1995 to 1996, the National Resolutions Subcommittee from 1988 to 1990 and the National Subcommittee on Committees from 1990 to 1995.

Peter M. Elson of Kapolei, Hawaii. Mr. Elson of Post 12 (Department of Hawaii) passed away July 10 at age 71. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran. Elson served as department commander from 2007 to 2008 and National Americanism Council vice chairman from 2003 to 2008. He was a member of the National Commission on Children & Youth from 2008 to 2009.

Raymond R. Feeser of Baltimore. Mr. Feeser of Post 148 (Department of Maryland) passed away June 26 at age 93. He was a World War II Army veteran. Feeser served as National Americanism Council vice chairman from 1978 to 1996.

W. Allen Kelley of Miami, Fla. Mr. Kelley of Post 31 (Department of Florida) passed away Nov. 22 at age 85. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Kelley served as National Cemetery Committee consultant from 1982 to 2012 and National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1980 to 1982. He was a member of the National Counter-Subversive Activities Committee from 1958 to 1961, and the National Legislative Council from 1987 to 1990, 1993 to 1994, 1999 to 2000 and 2001 to 2012.

Arthur H. Maggy of Morrisonville, N.Y. Mr. Maggy of Post 20 (Department of New York) passed away June 8 at age 71. He was a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran. Maggy served as National & Homeland Security Council vice chairman from 1996 to 2012.

Robert McDaniel of Paris, Ky. Mr. McDaniel of Post 257 (Department of Kentucky) passed away Nov. 10 at age 68. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran. McDaniel served as National Constitution & By-Laws Committee consultant from 2007 to 2012.

Elliot J. H. Morrison of Queen Creek, Ariz. Mr. Morrison of Post 27 (Department of Arizona) passed away July 12 at age 86. He was a World War II Navy and Korean War Air Force veteran. Morrison served as department commander from 1994 to 1995, National Foreign Relations Commission consultant from 1998 to 2004 and National Foreign Relations Council vice chairman from 1995 to 1998.

Patsy L. Palmquist of Port Isabel, Texas. Mrs. Palmquist of Post 101 (Department of Texas) passed away July 1 at age 88. She was a World War II Army veteran. Palmquist served as department commander from 1991 to 1992, National & Homeland Security Council vice chairman from 1992 to 1996, National Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Commission Region 4 chairman from 1998 to 1999, and National Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Commission Region 4 vice chairman from 1997 to 1998.

She was a member of National Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Commission Region 4 from 1996 to 1997 and 1999 to 2003.

Rev. Alfred C. Thompson of Bullville, N.Y. Mr. Thompson of Post 1872 (Department of New York) passed away June 25 at age 87. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Thompson served as national chaplain from 1965 to 1966, National Americanism Council vice chairman from 1973 to 1978, National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman in 1972, National Education Committee vice chairman from 1978 to 1979, National Education Committee chairman from 1979 to 1981 and National Foreign Relations Council chairman from 1981 to 1982.

He was a member of the National Counter-Subversive Activities Committee in 1965 and the National 50th Anniversary Committee from 1966 to 1969.

James A. Umble Jr. of Carmel, Maine. Mr. Umble of Post 107 (Department of Maine) passed away June 7 at age 78. He was a Korean War Navy veteran. Umble served as National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1998 to 1999 and 2001 to 2002, and National & Homeland Security Council vice chairman from 2002 to 2003.

William C. "Bo" Winchell of Little Rock, Ark. Mr. Winchell of Post 1 (Department of Arkansas) passed away June 4 at age 78; He was Korean War Navy veteran. Winchell served as department adjutant from 1999 to 2008 and acting department adjutant in 2010.

Leonard B. Zimmerman of Lansing, Mich. Mr. Zimmerman of Post 12 (Department of Michigan) passed away May 27 at age 90. He was a World War II Army veteran.
