Illinois post feeds flood victims

The rain storms that tore through central Illinois on April 18 caused floodwaters to rise to record levels along the Illinois River and forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes. But flood victims are finding comfort at a local post.

American Legion Post 235 in Marseilles, Ill., has been feeding nearly 1,000 flood victims a day since the storm hit last week. Legion family members are cooking, feeding and delivering meals to those affected.

American Legion national staff members are currently visiting Post 235. Stay tuned for updates on legion.org.
