Flag giveaways a hit on Facebook

What do "Cleveland," "Syracuse" and "Tacoma" have in common? They were all winning answers that won lucky participants a free American flag on Facebook.

Online since September 2011, the "American Legion Flags" Facebook page has attracted more than 1,500 loyal followers who have "Liked" the site in exchange for contest announcements. The contests awards a 3-foot by 5-foot outdoor American flag to the first participant who can identify the mystery city where the flag is "hidden." A clue is given at a designated time, and participants submit their answers in hopes of winning a flag.

In addition to giving away free flags, the American Legion Flags Facebook page also educates its followers about Legion programs that are partially funded through the sale of American flags by the Legion: Family Support Network, Temporary Financial Assistance, The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, Operation Comfort Warriors and more.

The Emblem Sales Division operates both the page and a dedicated website for the sale of flags, all of which are made in the United States by top-name-brand manufacturers.

Follow the action on the American Legion Flags Facebook page, and visit the array of flags Emblem Sales offers online at

  1. I carry a top quality 2'x 3' Arizona flag, made in the USA by a leading flag company. Made from durable heavyweight nylon, they are finished with a strong canvas heading and 2 brass grommets for enhanced durability and security on the flagpole. Visit my site at flag-outletcom
  2. I have been buying Am. Legion flags for several years. Very good flags, excellent price and they hold up to the wind we occasionally get in Arizona ;) question is, I have a 16 ft flagpole and use 2x3 flags....I would like to put a state flag up too but you don't have them in 2x3...any chance of that happening in the future? thanks
