Legion delivering testimony to House

American Legion Legislative Division staff will provide written testimony to two House Committee on Veterans' Affairs subcommittees today.

Assistant Director Jeff Steele will provide written testimony to the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity, which is meeting at 10 a.m. to review legislation that includes streamlining education claims and the Disabled Veterans' Surviving Spouses Home Loans Act.

Additionally, Deputy Director Ian de Planque will provide written testimony to the Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs, which is conducting a 1:30 p.m. hearing on accountability in VA claims processing, fraudulent claims processing charges and other legislation pending before the committee.

Vets rated 100% disabled for PTSD should be awarded retroactively Purple Hearts as PTSD is a combat injury like lost arms and legs and bullet wounds and vets with PTSD have been discrimnated against in this regard.
