Freedom Car welcomes two new sponsors

US Coin Boards, LLC and Plasma Energy Drink have signed on as associate sponsors of The American Legion/David Law Firm 76 Freedom Car, driven by Jerick Johnson, for the 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season.

“We are pleased to welcome US Coin Boards and Plasma Energy as a sponsor,” said Jack Johnson, Team Johnson Motorsports owner. “The addition makes us a stronger race program. And as always, we are grateful to all Legionnaires who support Legion Racing.”

US Coin Boards LLC is a licensed manufacturer of American Legion coin and merchandise boards who is authorized to produce exclusive games for American Legion posts. They are proud to contribute proceeds from these games to American Legion programs both nationally and locally.

D-PLASMA Corp is a Minnesota-based energy drink and producer of Plasma Energy, a line of healthier, multifunctional beverages. Plasma plans to launch a National Energy Drink program with special edition American Legion Racing cans and four new flavors, including a Mixed Berry Healthy Low Cal, Mixed Berry Healthy Low Cal Decaf, Blue Raspberry Healthy Low Cal and Citrus Fusion. For every can sold, Plasma will give back a portion of the proceeds to American Legion programs, including Legion Racing.

“We are excited about the partnership with the American Legion Racing team,” D-PLASMA President Dan O’Connor said. “We look forward to getting out there and meeting all the wonderful members of the American Legion in the coming months.”

The 76 Freedom Car will compete in 10 races in two racing series, beginning in Greensville, S.C., on March 26 and concluding at Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina on Nov. 5.

“We’re looking forward to a very competitive season in both the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the United Speed Alliance Racing Series,” Jerick Johnson said. “At least four events are in conjunction with NASCAR Nationwide races, and seven of our races will be at NASCAR tracks.

“We are especially excited that Aug. 27, during the Legion National Convention in Minneapolis, we will be racing at Elko Speedway less than an hour from the convention city. A lot of great racing activities are scheduled as part of Military Night at the Speedway.”

Johnson and the No. 76 team has made the move into the NASCAR K & N Pro Series East this season after running in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards last year.
