Legion has presence at NAACP convention

Verna Jones, deputy director of The American Legion Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Division, joined with National Membership Director Billy Johnson Director and Internal Affairs Assistant Director Matt Herndon in attending the 101st annual national convention of the NAACP, conducted recently in Kansas City, Mo.

During the convention, a panel discussion specifically addressed veterans issues. Verna Jones addressed benefit related questions and concerns.

Johnson and Herndon interacted with the delegates and were on hand to answer questions about American Legions programs and membership. Jones handled questions about benefits, including those regarding claims and appeals.

The delegates were receptive and appreciative of The American Legions presence. There is significant need to increase awareness of The American Legion in all communities.
