This is a how-to book for competitive marksmen in Olympic-style 3-position rifle events primarily, and other types of events secondarily. It’s my fourth book on this subject. This book instructs readers on how to build stable shooting positions and how to design a successful training program. It explains the principles of performance psychology as developed by the most recent brain-imaging work of sports psychologists. It details the psychological “zone” or “flow” associated with peak performance in a manner customized for shooting sports. It provides an in-depth discussion of Newtonian physics as those laws apply to precision shooting. The book is suitable for advanced beginners through elite marksmen.

About the author:

The Author: Frank Troy honed his marksmanship skills at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) at Ft. Benning, GA, from 1963-65. Later, collaborating with AMU coach Bill Pullum, he co-authored three highly successful books on competitive shooting. This latest book updates his previous writings and provides new scientific insights into the deep, “invisible” principles of precision marksmanship.
