As a Vietnam Veteran I would like to propose that the American Legion National Commander issue a proclamation that the American Legion members both individuals and Post's use the United States Post Office "Purple Heart" stamp for all mailings. This would be a fitting tribute to celebrate the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday! The Purple Heart is the most recognizable award and an appropriate award for those wounded and deceased from wounds from wars both past and present. The "50th" Anniversary of the Vietnam War is coming up, this would be a fitting tribute in remembrance of that Anniversary. I would hope that our fellow brethren in the VFW and DAV would also adopt this stamp for their own use. Semper Fi !
