Thomas “Thom” Skelley is a dedicated 21-year member of the Sons of The American Legion, earning his eligibility through the honorable wartime service of his father, William M. Skelley Sr., who served in the Pacific Theater during World War II from 1941 to 1945.
Throughout his years of service, Thom has held numerous leadership positions at the Squadron, District, Division, and Detachment levels. He has also served nationally on the Sons of The American Legion Children & Youth Committee and as Chairman of both the Veterans Employment & Education Commission and the Membership & Squadron Activities Committee.
Thom is a graduate of the National Management Institute, the American Legion Extension Institute, the American Legion Basic Training Course, the SAL University Pilot Program, and Columbia University’s “Be The One” training program.
In addition to his service within the organization, Thom is a proud family man. He and his wife, Amy, have been married for 26 years and are the proud parents of two sons: Nuclear Electronics Technician Evan Skelley of the United States Navy and Kieran Skelley, a marketing major at the University of South Carolina.
