C. Frank Meraz, Jr.

SAL National Vice Commander, Western Region

C. Frank Meraz, Jr. serves as a National Vice Commander representing the Western Region. He is a proud 45-year member of the Sons of The American Legion at Ed Stewart Squadron #803 in Stockton, California. 

Frank’s eligibility for the Sons’ comes through his grandfather, Joseph Guzman, who honorably served in the United States Coast Guard in the Pacific during World War II. Joseph was a dedicated Legionnaire, holding numerous offices at the post level, including service as Post Commander of Ed Stewart Post #803. 

Over the past 45 years with Squadron #803, Frank has devoted himself to leadership at every level. He has served multiple terms as Squadron Adjutant and Squadron Commander, as well as one term as District Commander. At the Detachment level, his service includes roles as Adjutant, Finance Officer, Commander, Internal Affairs Chairman, and Finance Committee Chairman. 

On the National level, Frank has contributed as Alternate National Executive Committeeman, a member of the National Member Training and Development Committee (MT&D), and a member of the National Membership and Squadron Activities Committee (M&SA). 

Frank is honored to have the endorsement of Ed Stewart Post #803, Ed Stewart Unit #803, and Ed Stewart Squadron #803, along with the support of The American Legion Department of California.
