Legion players join USA Baseball tourney

Nearly 144 of the nation’s top ballplayers were invited to compete in the 2012 USA Baseball Tournament of Stars, presented by Major League Baseball, June 20-24 at the National Training Complex in Carry, N.C. Of those invited, 18 are American Legion Baseball players.

Those representing The American Legion were:

  7. Michael Maiello, Las Vegas, third baseman/right-handed pitcher

  9. Kenny Meimerstorf, Henderson, Nev., outfielder
  10. Raymond Pedrina, Kapolei, Hawaii, infielder/outfielder
  11. Kort Peterson, Los Gatos, Calif., outfielder

Addtionally, five American Legion Baseball coaches will be attending. They are Byron Ballard, Chesterfield, Va.; Sandee Kensinger, Talent, Ore.; Todd Jahnke, Shorewood, Minn.; Jim Peck, Chanhassen, Minn.; and Tim Saunders, Dublin, Ohio.
