Hiring event scheduled for Washington Conference

Veterans, military spouses, servicemembers and others can receive career planning assistance at a hiring event in conjunction with The American Legion’s Washington Conference in March.

Registration is open for the event sponsored by the Legion and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program. The event is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 5 at the Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC.

The agenda includes:

  • A civilian resume workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.;

  • A financial literacy workshop from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.:

  • A LinkedIn/self-branding workshop from 11 a.m. to noon;

  • A networking lunch from noon to 1 p.m.;

  • A federal resume workshop from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.;

  • And a hiring fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This free professional development event is open to active-duty servicemembers, National Guard members, military reservists, veterans, military spouses and military caregivers. For more information and to register, click here.
