Color guards to compete in Milwaukee

The American Legion National Color Guard Contest will be held on Friday, Aug. 26, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee during the 103rd National Convention. Applications for the contest are still being accepted, and must be received by National Headquarters by July 22.

The four classes of competition are Advancing & Retiring Colors, Military, Military-Open Eligibility and Open. Color guard units can comprise members of the Legion, Auxiliary, Sons, or a mix of the organizations. All competing personnel of each color guard entering the contest may be requested to participate in a tentative convention event on Sunday, Aug. 28.
