Legion Family Day on the lake

In lieu of a parade, the 103rd American Legion National Convention will include Legion Family Day on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Milwaukee Oktoberfest.

The festival will be held at the lakefront War Memorial Center. Tickets are available to convention attendees for one of two sessions on Aug. 28: 1-4 p.m. or 5-9 p.m. A $300 Gold Ticket reserves a table for eight, and a $15 individual Silver Ticket ensures standing room and a beverage in the upper portion of the plaza, where special programming will range from traditional dances to musical ensembles. There will also be a vendor fair. Food and beverages will be provided by “Milwaukee’s Most Authentic German Restaurant,” Kegel’s Inn, established in 1924 as a Prohibition speakeasy.
