Illinois post hits 100 percent membership with recruiting tool

American Legion Post 1148 in Leaf River, Ill., puts together a booklet twice a year about who the post is that is left in the local post office, gas stations, restaurants and other businesses. This booklet has helped the post achieve 100% membership for the 2022-2023 membership year. 

The booklet lists contact information for the post commander and adjutant, a list of post officers, upcoming dates and special events, programs of The American Legion and much more.

The booklet "inspires people to join," said Post 1148 Commander Mickey Badertscher. "This is what helps our recruitment."
