Montana Legion post puts 60 U.S. flags in classrooms

Post 17 in Red Lodge took on the state’s initiative for a flag in every classroom.

Montana’s U.S. Department of Education conducted a Flag in Every Classroom presentation to attendees of the American Legion Department of Montana’s spring conference last year. Members of American Legion Carbon Post 17 in Red Lodge liked the initiative and contacted nearby schools to see how many flags were needed in classrooms. Post 17 ordered over 60 U.S. flags from American Legion Emblem Sales, along with 200 “Let’s Be Right on Flag Etiquette” booklets. The ability to purchase the flags and booklets was made possible thanks to three generous donations, said Post 17 Adjutant Daniel Nardinger.
