Flowers at Opijnen

On July 30, 1943, an American fighter plane was shot down above Opijnen in the Netherlands. Now, 80 years later, the veterans of American Legion Post NL01 made another visit. This is how they remembered their fallen compatriots: by laying flowers on the graves. The turnout was small, but the enthusiasm was real. A big thank you to the supporters of Opijnen for making the facilities available for us.
