When the Post Amateur Radio Program module is ready, we will let you know.

The American Legion at the national level exists to support its individual members, their families, all veterans and service members, and their communities. The varied functions at the national level – including membership, communications, training, finance, archives and legal support – serve as foundations for the volunteer leadership.

Since “membership in The American Legion is membership in the National Organization of The American Legion by affiliation with posts,” it is essential that members fully understand the programs and practices of the Legion.

To help educate and provide support for departments, counties, districts and local posts, national headquarters staffers coordinate Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) training. The program is a one-day, eight-hour session designed to provide instruction to departments, counties, districts and post members.

There are 25 modules available that cover major Legion programs like Americanism, Children & Youth, Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, as well as "how to" instruction on Post Operations , Public Relations, and Disaster Preparedness and Response. And one more class will be added later this year. HQ staff is about to begin the development of a 2-hour Amateur Radio LEAD training module for instruction on developing a post amateur radio program. It is expected to be unveiled in a few months with the next edition of the LEAD Training Booklet for Department Legion Colleges and training conferences.

You can be sure that when the Post Amateur Radio Program module is ready, we will let you know!
