The eight American Legion Baseball regional champs have arrived in Shelby, N.C., in preparation for the 2017 American Legion Baseball World Series (ALWS) at Keeter Stadium. Games get underway Thursday and will continue through Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Fans can catch highlights of the games and other activities through The Dugout, American Legion Baseball’s e-newsletter, which will publish a daily edition beginning Aug. 10. The Dugout will include game results, schedules and features; to subscribe, click here.
Other ALWS highlights of the week include USAA Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 12 at Keeter Stadium where veterans and military personnel receive free admission to the games. And the first 600 veterans and active-duty military personnel will receive free caps and commemorative coins and awards. Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is on Sunday, Aug. 13, where all law enforcement receive free admission. Youth Athletic Day is Monday, Aug. 14; youth wearing their team jerseys will receive free admission.

Remember to watch the games live on ESPN. Games 1-4 on Thursday, Aug. 10, and Games 5-6 on Friday, Aug. 11, will be live streamed online at www.espn3.com. Games televised live on ESPNU include Games 7-9 on Saturday, Aug. 12, Games 10-12 on Sunday, Aug. 13, the two semifinal games on Monday, Aug. 14, and Tuesday’s championship game.
