The teams will begin play in the 98th ALWS on Thursday in Shelby, N.C.
Five of the teams in the 2025 American Legion World Series come from programs with previous ALWS experience, although one has a different post sponsor than the last time they were in Shelby, N.C.
Lincoln (Neb.) Post 500 was sponsored by Post 3 when it finished runner-up to League City (Tex.) Post 554 in the 2023 ALWS.
League City this year will become only the second program to make four straight ALWS appearances. Only Brooklawn (N.J.) Post 72 (1998 to 2001 and 2011 to 2015) has previously advanced to the ALWS four or more consecutive seasons.
League City finished fifth in its 2022 debut, won the 2023 title and lost in the 2024 semifinals to eventual champion Troy (Ala.).
Chesapeake (Va.) Post 280, Bossier City (La.) Post 202 and Rockport (Ind.) Post 254 also have ALWS experience in their history.
Chesapeake finished seventh in 2010 and fifth in 2022.
Bossier City finished sixth last year.
And Rockport is making its fifth appearance after previously finishing sixth in 1974, sixth in 1984, eight in 2007 and third in 2016.
Meanwhile, Greece (N.Y.) Post 468, Asheville (N.C.) Post 70 and Portland (Ore.) Post 158 are making their first-ever ALWS appearances.
Greece is in the ALWS after winning its third state title in the past four seasons.
Asheville won its first state title since 1929 late last month.
And Portland won its second state title and comes from a city with six other previous state championship-winners and four with ALWS appearances highlighted by Post 105's 1969 championship.
