Player of the Year Jacob Cyr bookended the 2023 American Legion World Series with two pitching gems. Cyr threw the third no-hitter in ALWS history in League City Post 554’s opening game, then threw a six-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over Lincoln (Neb.) Post 3 in the championship game for the first ALWS title in state history.

First state champion: Decatur.

Notable alumni: Roger Clemens, Spring Woods, 1988 Graduate of the Year; Jacob Cyr, League City, 2023 Player of the Year; Michael Wacha, Texarkana, major leaguer.
