ALB Regionals: Thursday’s results

All eight regionals were in action Thursday, and the first teams were eliminated from the tournament.

Action continued Thursday in four 2026 American Legion Baseball regionals while getting underway in four regionals in games played all across the country.

Here are Thursday’s results and Friday’s games (all times local).

Region 1 (Northeast)

Fitton Field, Shrewsbury, Mass.

Thursday’s Results

Game 1: Essex Junction (Vt.) Post 91 d. Cumberland (R.I.) Post 14, 4-1. Jake Philbeck (7-hitter, 5 strikeouts), Owen Labar (3 hits) and Nick Calono (2 hits, double, 1 RBI) led Essex and Jake Lonardo (2 hits, 1 RBI) led Cumberland.
Game 2: Bedford (N.H.) Post 54 d. Franklin (Mass.) Post 75, 11-0. Starter Zachary Papic (4 innings, 5 strikeouts), reliever and winner Jaiden Bousquet (2 2/3 innings, 2 strikeouts) and reliever Jason Topf (1/3 inning, 1 strikeout) combined on a 2-hitter for Bedford, whose offense was led by Noah Durham (2 hits, 2 RBIs).

Game 3: Shrewsbury (Mass.) Post 397 d. Sanford (Maine) Post 19, 9-1. Brendan Parisi (4-hitter, 6 strikeouts), Owen Mongeon (3 hits, 2 RBIs) and Bryan Herlihy (2 hits, 1 RBI) led Shrewsbury.

Game 4: Cumberland (R.I.) Post 14 vs. Franklin (Mass.) Post 75, 11 a.m.

Game 5: Essex Junction (Vt.) Post 91 vs. Sanford (Maine) Post 19, 2 p.m.

Thursday’s Results

Game 1: Dover (Del.) Post 2 d. Funkstown (Md.) Post 211, 13-8. After Funkstown rallied to tie the game at 7-7, Dover scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held on for the win.

Game 2: Whitehouse (N.J.) Post 284 d. Greater Pittston (Pa.), 13-3 (5 innings). Reid Bazydio (4 2/3 innings, 2 strikeouts, win as pitcher, 3 hits, double, 2 RBIs), John Portman (3 hits, double, 2 RBIs), Mike Novotny (2 hits) and Owen Schilling (2 hits, triple, RBI) led Whitehouse.

Game 3: Kingston/Saugerties (N.Y.) Posts 150/72 d. Waterford (Conn.) Post 161, 6-1. Starter and winner Dylan MacDonald (6 2/3 innings, 11 strikeouts), reliever Jaylen McLean (1/3 inning, save) and Jake Young (2 hits, double) led Kingston/Saugerties.

Thursday’s Results

Game 5: Wheeling (W. Va.) Post 1 d. Dorado (P.R.) Post 45, 3-0; Dorado eliminated. Starter and winner Aleksander Zanieski (5 1/3 innings, 7 strikeouts) and reliever Erik Blazier (1 2/3 innings, 2 strikeouts, save) combined on a 1-hitter for Wheeling, whose offense was led by Brady Ernest (2 hits, home run, RBI).

Game 6: Chesapeake (Va.) Post 280 d. Cherryville (N.C.) Post 100, 6-1; Cherryville eliminated. Starter and winner Joel Flynn (4 2/3 innings, 3 strikeouts) and Santiago Gomez (2 hits, double, 3 RBIs) led Chesapeake and Tyler Gates (home run) led Cherryville.

Game 7: Garner (N.C.) Post 232 d. Harrison (Ohio) Post 199, 11-1 (5 innings). Reliever and winner Cam Copley (2 innings, 3 strikeouts), Cash Grimsley (4 hits, double, 2 RBIs) and Dylan Palmer (2 hits, 3 RBIs) led Garner.

Game 8: Florence (S.C.) Post 1 d. Jacksonville (Fla.) Post 316, 14-4 (5 innings). Tristan Hickman (4-hitter, 3 strikeouts), Gabe McLaughlin (2 hits, double, 2 RBIs), Newt Hinson (2 hits, 2 RBIs) and James Wyatt Arthur (2 hits, double, 1 RBI) led Florence, which used a nine-run bottom of the fifth to knock off previously unbeaten Jacksonville (24-1).

Game 1: Tupelo (Miss) Post 49 d. Columbia (Tenn.) Post 19, 5-2. Starter and winner Cade Lott (4 innings, 3 strikeouts), reliever JohnDaly Whitaker (3 innings, save) and Colin Flury (double, home run, 3 RBIs) led Tupelo.

Game 2: Bryant (Ark.) Blacksox d. Bossier (La.) Phillies, 5-1. Andrew TateLee (3-hitter, 7 strikeouts), Jaxon Riggs (3 hits) and Jake Elliot (2 hits, double) led Bryant.

Game 3: Baldwin (Ala.) Post 199 d. Ada (Okla.) Braves, 4-3. Reliever and winner Colin Watson (4 innings, 6 strikeouts as pitcher, 2 hits, triple, game-winning run), K.C. Jones (2 hits), Noah Mosley (2 hits) and Alex Harrington (walk off sacrifice fly) led Baldwin County.

Thursday’s Results

Game 5: Valparaiso (Ind.) Post 94 d. Washington (Mo.) Post 218, 4-0; Washington eliminated. Dylan Bradford (3-hitter, 11 strikeouts), Ben Truby (3 hits) and Dante Bellaomini (2 hits, double, 3 RBIs) led Valparaiso, which had to forfeit its opening game due to a lack of eligible players.

Game 6: Aviston (Ill.) Post 1239 d. Pittsburg (Kan.) Post 64, 7-3; Pittsburg eliminated. Ethan Wheelan (5-hitter, 3 strikeouts) and Miles Brown (2 hits, 2 RBIs) led Aviston.

Game 7: Owensboro (Ky.) Post 9 d. Terre Haute (Ind.) Post 346, 8-7 (8 innings). Brody Brubaker's two-run double in bottom of the eighth was the game-winner as Owensboro rallied from 4-0, 5-3 and 7-6 deficits to win. Brubaker (2 doubles, 3 RBIs) and Brett Poole (2 hits) led Owensboro.
