Players and coaches from Lincoln (Neb.) Carpet Land Post 500 will attend Game 2, participate in Play Ball event with local kids.
The 2026 American Legion World Series champions will be special guests at Game 2 of the Major League Baseball World Series this Saturday, Oct. 24, in Milwaukee, Wis.
Continuing a long-standing tradition, players and coaches from Lincoln (Neb.) Carpet Land Post 500 will attend the World Series. Post 500 won the 99th American Legion World Series in August with a 9-6 comeback victory over Portland (Ore.) Post 158.
In addition to attending Game 2 of the World Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays, the Lincoln team will be assisting in a Play Ball event Saturday morning, hosted by MLB.
The Play Ball program provides local kids with the opportunity to learn a variety of baseball skills from past MLB players and other athletes.
“It’s important because little kids need someone to look up to, learn new things about the game, and it’s a good time,” Troy (Ala.) Post 70 player Cody Walsh said during his team’s Play Ball participation around the 2024 World Series in Los Angeles.
