American Legion partner USAA and the University of Colorado are conducting the paid study for veteran suicide prevention.
American Legion partner USAA is addressing veteran suicide through its Face the Fight initiative, a coalition of over 250 corporations, foundations, nonprofits and veteran-focused organizations – including the Legion – with a mission to reduce veteran suicide.
To support this effort, USAA is partnering with researchers at the University of Colorado School of Medicine to conduct a study on how military members and their families talk about storing and staging firearms kept in the home.
Are you a military servicemember, veteran, spouse, adult child or caregiver of a servicemember or veteran with at least one firearm in the home? You can be a part of this paid study.
Here’s how: Complete this screening questionnaire.
Participants of the study (military servicemembers, veterans, spouses, children 18+ and caregivers) will complete a 30-minute interview over Zoom for the study. Partcipants will receive a $25 gift card.
Participation for the study is voluntary, and the study has been approved by the Colorado Multiple Institutional Board (#25-2306).
