The annual event at Post 13 drew 60-plus employers and 200-plus job seekers.
Carlisle Bennett American Legion Post 13 in Albuquerque, N.M., went big — and got big results — for its 10th Heroes Hiring Heroes event.
The April 30 employment event brought 63 employers and 12 community resource organizations to the post, with 206 job seekers — including 67 veterans — attending in search of their next career.
Past National Vice Commander Paul Espinoza said the Legion also signed up 15 new members that day.
The event, presented by the Legion and the Workforce Connection of Central New Mexico, was promoted beforehand with local commercials, as well as TV and radio appearances, Espinoza said.
He also thanked local government, including the mayor’s office and governor’s office, for their assistance in the event.
